Air Conditioning Control with Hotel Window and Door Contact

Managing air conditioning permissions with a window or balcony door open is a common scenario in hotel room automation. The contact information is matched with the control interface supported by the air conditioning equipment; Cutting off the main supply directly is not suitable for every device.

Contact connection and fault separation

The normally open or normally closed contact selection is matched to the input circuit. Wire break and window opening may look the same in simple circuits. If line surveillance is required, the appropriate circuit is designed. In wireless contact, battery status, last communication time and connection loss are also monitored.

Delay and acclimatization leave

Delay and fallback scenarios are defined to prevent short window openings from causing unnecessary interrupts. Fan-coil valve and fan stages and the control interface of the split air conditioner are different. The permissible restart times of the compressor are verified from the manufacturer's instructions.

Site acceptance

For each room, window open-close status, cable or battery failure and guest return are tested. Open window notification and the decision to have people in the room are kept separate. Door contact alone does not measure the number of guests or room occupancy.

Technical questions and answers

Does the door contact replace the presence sensor?

No. Door movement and the presence of people inside are different information.

Is it right to cut off the air conditioning energy directly?

It cannot be applied without evaluating the manufacturer's instructions and control interface of the device.

Does wireless contact require maintenance?

Periodic check of battery, communication and installation status is required.

How many seconds should the delay be?

It is determined in pilot testing according to room usage and equipment conditions.
