Cold Room Monitoring System

Temperature changes and doors remaining open in cold storages are situations that the business must see in a timely manner. Fetrion Tracer; It is a monitoring and control device developed to remotely monitor temperature, humidity and door status data.

Cold room monitoring system system components

Monitor temperature, humidity and door status together

A single instantaneous temperature value may not be sufficient to describe the behavior of the room during the day. When historical data and door movements are examined together, the duration of the change and its relationship with the operation become more understandable. The values to be monitored, the sensors to be used and the recording interval are determined by room conditions.

Alarm scenarios for critical thresholds

Remote alarm and notification scenarios can be created when temperature or other monitoring values exceed specified thresholds. Thresholds, delay times and notification recipients should be defined during the project. Testing the network connection and alarm chain under operating conditions ensures monitoring becomes a feasible process.

Integration with existing cooling infrastructure

Tracer has an architecture for working with different brands and sensor infrastructures. Sensor type, controller and connection conditions are evaluated separately in each installation. Remote software update (OTA) support helps with the maintenance process of the device software.

Check out the demo screen

In the cold storage demo, you can see temperature, alarm, door and history graphic screens with sample data. Demo values are not an actual plant measurement. You can share the number of rooms, measurement range, available devices and notification needs for your own project with Fetrion.

Measuring point and alarm scenario design

Sensor location and calibration

A sensor close to a door, evaporator, or air blow point may behave differently than other areas of the room. Sensor number and location; It is selected by evaluating the volume, shelf layout and temperature distribution. Accuracy target, calibration traceability and maintenance period are determined according to the needs of the business.

Defrost, door opening and alarm delay

Alarm thresholds are determined by the product stored and the operating procedure. Short-term fluctuations are evaluated with hysteresis, delay and defrost information. Data up-to-date and communication outage should be treated as separate events from the temperature threshold alarm.

Technical questions and answers

With what information is project evaluation made?

The number of rooms, target temperature ranges, existing sensors and control devices, network access and alarm expectations are evaluated.

Does the demo screen show live plant data?

No. The demo shows sample data for examining the interface.

Where should the temperature sensor be placed in the cold room?

The location is chosen according to the temperature distribution and usage patterns of the room. Areas where direct air blowing, door traffic and temperature differences occur are evaluated. In large or critical rooms more than one measurement point may be required.

How to reduce false temperature alarm during defrost?

Defrost information, threshold hysteresis and appropriate alarm delay are evaluated together. The delay should not be chosen so long as to hide real risks; The scenario should be tested with records and operating conditions.

Can cold room temperature records be used in quality processes?

Time-stamped and accessible historical records can provide input into quality processes. Storage period, user access, calibration and report format must be determined. A monitoring device alone does not provide HACCP or other certification of conformity.

What is Cold Room Monitoring?

Cold room monitoring system; It helps the business monitor room conditions by recording data such as temperature, humidity within the project scope and door status. Measurement, alarm and historical records are handled together. The monitoring system is not the same as the system that directly controls the cooling device.

Does temperature monitoring manage the cooling system?

Not always. Monitoring and control are different functions. It should be verified within the scope of the project and connection whether the device gives a command to the equipment or not.

Does an alarm mean that the products are damaged?

No. An alarm indicates a situation that requires investigation. Product evaluation is carried out in accordance with the relevant conditions and procedures of the responsible experts.
